Seth MeyersHow will Seth Meyers run things on his Late Night show when he takes over the reigns from Jimmy Fallon?

For one thing, the former Weekend Update anchor hints that he'll be putting his own mark on the talk show: "I like that everyone before me has established this as a place to try things out. It's 12:35 at night. You can do crazy stuff."

Past co-workers and Saturday Night Live co-stars are offering up their speculations, too. "The defining thing with him is his intelligence and curiosity," SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels said.

Former Weekend Update co-anchor Amy Poehler points out that viewers can expect great interviews from Meyers: "He enjoys bringing the best out of people. Maybe it's his improv training, but he really knows how to make other people look good."

NBC’s Sinking Ship: Is Jay Leno Bailing, Too?

According to unnamed sources cited by Popeater, is none too pleased with NBC and their future plans for The Tonight Show.

The source says Jay is furious with being made to look like “the bad guy” in all the hubbub. Frankly, I don’t think he does. made it pretty clear that NBC is, in fact, “the bad guy.”

It’s not hard to believe that Leno might want to leave the network that’s so willing to shun O’Brien after giving him only seven months in his new job.

Days after NBC Universal TV chairman Jeff Gaspin formally announced NBC’s proposed programming plans, Conan O’Brien gave his formal response. The network will now have one less person to juggle in their late-night schedule.

The Jay Leno Show Leaving Primetime on February 12

Although the drama surrounding NBC’s late-night schedule is still ongoing, two things were finally made clear by NBC Universal TV chairman Jeff Gaspin today:

  1. The Jay Leno Show will air its final 10:00 broadcast on February 12.
  2. The network has asked Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon to adjust their start times by 30 minutes.

The decision, which was revealed at the Television Critics Assn. Press Tour, was reportedly a result of increased pressure by the local affiliates. It wasn’t a reaction to Jay Leno’s actual work.

Ashlee Simpson Talks Melrose Place, Then and Now

appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night to talk about Melrose Place, both the original and new version. Simpson plays Violet Foster on the show, a character who quickly loses her innocence while living in the steamy sexpot inhabited by a crew of deviants.

The two talked about past plots, returning characters and not much else. Fallon, like many former Melrose watchers, is anxiously awaiting the return of . She has not been confirmed as returning to the show, but she hasn’t stepped forward to say she won’t do it, either.

Kiefer Sutherland Expresses Regret for Head-Butting Incident

A regretful Kiefer Sutherland took a giant step toward clearing his name yesterday.

During an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s late-night program, the 24 actor briefly addressed the head-butting incident that occurred back on May 5. Although he wasn’t able to elaborate on the circumstances, Sutherland seemed sincerely ashamed for his actions.

“Now last time I saw you, we went out to dinner and then, uh, something…what happened?” Fallon asked. “I just want to know, how close was I from being on the receiving end?”
